Shades of Gray

You all know how much I love thrift shopping and this post will basically be me advocating for it (again) for all the people that are still unsure while also helping you make a small alter to your casual attire.

I found a pair of Victoria's Secret Pink leggings for $5 at Savers. For anyone who is an avid Pink shopper, you'll understand why this is a big deal. This is just a small example of how thrift shopping can be a way to find fashion staples you need at a much cheaper price along with the cool vintage stuff you might stumble upon.

Besides the fact that these leggings were a thrift find, I want to talk to you about making one small change to your outfit today with them. Throwing on a pair of black leggings with a top of your choice is the easiest and smartest way to get dressed when you're lazy but don't want to look like a slob. What if, instead of the plain black, you chose another color instead? What about gray? Navy? Purple, even? Even a lazy day outfit can be completely turned up if you're not wearing black leggings on the bottom. Let's explore, shall we?

Clearly, I threw this outfit together quickly, like some people might also do if they are late for school in the morning and settle for the 'leggings and sweater' combo. There's nothing wrong with doing that! Leggings with a sweater still looks put together even though you're comfortable and, let's face it: lazy. But if you spiced it up and put on gray leggings instead of black, you already have an edge.

NEXT.

Gray leggings under shorts instead of solid black. Again, you have a new edge and a good base color for your outfit's theme.

Last but not least, if anyone is a fan of oversized denim shirts like me, they're awesome to button all the way up and wear like a dress over leggings with some Converse. Denim on solid black does get old after awhile, though. I almost feel more sophisticated with gray under my denim. Am I going too far? Oops.. well at least I'm not wearing the same black leggings three days in a row with no end to the madness in sight.

Do you see where I'm going with all this? Try out a new color legging and see how it changes your life. +5 if you buy them at a thrift store :)
