Straying away from the standard 'combat boot' style, most designers have started to create a shorter boot, not surpassing the ankle, fully equipped with pointy toes and buckles to strap the shoes in place. This is a style worn by men and women alike, especially attracting the likes of celebrities and famous figures to slip their feet into a pair. I've found that audiences of boots like this do not fall into any particular age category because they are neither dated nor aged too young or old. My mom and 16 year old sister can both rock them. They both are subtle and stylish. And they're comfy as hell. My particular pair comes from Forever XXI, but boots like these are taking over shelves everywhere these days. Here's my interpretation on them.
My first impression of the shoes was 'rocker grunge' (as is always my first thought). They fill the '80s rock and roll' theme especially when paired with all black. Even if your outfit is a little on the boring side, the buckles brighten the whole look.
shirt: xhilaration
jacket: mossimo
pants: marshall's
boots: forever xxi
necklace:forever xxi
earrings: wet seal
shirt: xhilaration
pants: tinstletown
necklace: florida airport gift shop
bracelet:kohl's
Next impression involved a more girly, peplum style. As you can see, the quality of the outfit has changed completely.
shirt: mossimo
pants: willi smith
blazer: apt. 9
necklace: kohl's
And then I tried something even more straight-edge. Having a mustard-colored base paired with a preppy velvet blazer allows the boots to shine through as the rugged accessory that they are while still remaining a 'business casual' outfit. These boots are truly magical.
If you're interested in your own pair, I suggest you scoot your boot(less feet) over to Forever XXI RIGHT NOW. I bought these last week and they were on CLEARANCE!
